We the People is a sharp and original stand-up hour which has the courage to challenge how we think in a polarised society."Veronica Pottinen, co-founder of Replik, added: "Sam Jay's insights open up the space for conversation without being preachy and tackle big questions about identity, division and power with genuine tolerance and understanding. The show is brilliantly written and delivered with understated precision and comic timing."On accepting the prize, Sam Jay said: "My goal with bringing We the People to the Fringe this year is to do what I think all good comedy does, which is bring people together and get them looking at the world through a different lens. Especially in these extremely divisive times. That's what I think makes the fringe special – it's truly a slice of the world with people from so many different cultures, walks of life and values. I'd like to thank Replik for not only recognising my show but truly understanding its goal."The 2025 shortlist comprised of:Andrew Doherty: Sad Gay AIDS Play (Pleasance Dome)
